I shop at the victory and have for close to 20 years, there prices are very reasonable ,and one time the floor manager told me that if I found a price anywhere cheaper show me the ad and he would match it which I thought was pretty good . I read the comments here and was shocked ,well not so shocked the way people are today , A bunch of nick-picks to read all the negative comments toward the store and their staff. Sorry that people can't be as perfect as you are, I suggest you people shop elsewhere and if you don't have anything positive to say , say nothing.

I am a HUGE Victory Meat fan! I have been shopping at the victory most of my life. With great prices and very interesting food choices Victory is the way to go. My only issue would be 1 cashier that I know does not care one bit about customers. This cashier ( i'm not naming names) is I believe full time and usually works on first cash. She is not always very interested in work, and more so in her cell phone or eating while working. This should be looked at seeing as it causes people not to want to shop at the Victory. I have spoken to many long time victory lovers and it seems this staff member is holding back on customer service! Perhaps this young girl should be spoken too. Customers come first and if you have to send a message and play on your cell phone you could save that for break time. But other than a couple young workers the rest are out standing! They are friendly and work hard! Victory should be hiring more helpful and kind people!!

The best little EVERYTHING store in New Brunswick. This store does the little things better than anyone. I am a regular customer, and have been since I moved to Fredericton two years ago. The prices are just unbeatable.

I was in the store a couple weeks ago, and got to the cash only to discover I left my wallet at home, the young manager happened to be standing in earshot and offered to let me take my small order on the honour system. IMAGINE that? He said he recognized me, and would gladly wait for me to come in the next day to pay for my small order. I was absolutely blown away. Superstore wouldn't let ya get away with that.

I buy all of my meat at the Victory, for over 30 years I have been a faithful shopper. I like their cuts of meat and the produce. I live on a very tight budget and am not able to purchase some of the finer cuts of meat but I am certaily able to buy enough meat to feed my family...thank you Victory Meat Market!

We bought some meat at victory which was suppose to be top sirloin at a great price of 10.00 for 5 small steaks.
The meat was terrible (full of grizzle) and certainly was not top sirloin. I am sure the butcher with the store would recognize the cut when it came in. I would recommend that the owners check where the beef comes from because it seemed to be a cut from a holstein or old cows brought to the kill floor. Anything from a holstein will not be top sirloin.

We love love the Victory. Great prices, and very friendly staff. I have never had a rude experiance as others claim. We dont buy our meat from anywhere else. For anyone who is on a budget you should really go back to the deli counter and ask to see the freezer special for 80.00. See what comes in the box... We save 80.00 a month on meat buying this way. In my opinion whether you are on a budget or not. We save almost 1000.00 a year buying this way. Anyone who is always looking to try to save where they can just try buying the box of meat once. Its like Christmas when I bag all of my meat and put it in my freezer lol )

I have worked at Victory Meat Market for a year and a half, and love it. The staff are a great bunch, and the customers are a wonderful mix too. It's nice to see the same faces every week. I enjoy going to work every day. We are always trying to improve.

Love the costumer service. Always great deals on and they all know me and my family by name just after a couple visits, the only time I don't shop there is when I can't make it all the way there.

Just reading the post from the customer who thought the staff was unfriendly. I could not believe this! I have shopped there for 18 years and NEVER have I ever been spoken to rudely by staff. The employees are always helpful and polite. In particular, the younger high school students seem to be so mannerly and polite, a real credit to the store. Keep up the good work Victory. You will NEVER get this kind of service at Sobeys!!!

I guess some people just like to complain, what a shame!!

The prices on milk and meat are excellent. The only complaint about the meat I have is, sometimes I would like a smaller package of the sale meat as I don't have a deep freeze nor a big fridge/freezer. I have to shop often for this reason. I find sometimes the young men are not that friendly and I am always having to try to keep out of their way (instead of the other way around! After all I am the customer!) and when I mention it to them (in a nice joking way), they usually just ignore me (which I don't like either!). I find some of the young girls on the cash are not always very friendly (usually talking to each other about their own concerns). Since I have no way except this site to contact them (I would rather not phone them for my own reasons, though I certainly could), my biggest complaint is from shopping today. One cashier (who IS friendly) asked me a very personal question which I would have preferred not to be asked. I am not in the habit of telling people none of your business! because I don't like to be rude also I answered it truthfully (because it was one of those questions which required a yes or a no answer and I am not in the habit of lying). If any staff reads this especially a manager or owner will you PLEASE instruct ALL CASHIERS to PLEASE REFRAIN from ASKING CUSTOMERS PERSONAL QUESTIONS - especially those about a customer's finances, income, line of work, anything that fits along these lines!!!! With appreciation. Thank you.

We find that the cahsiers are very rough with all the items and very quick to grab your money. Never once were we asked if we foundeverything we were looking for.

I am a regular shopper at Victory and enjoy the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff, and the deals are good.

But I was in there today with my friend and our daughters. We both purchased various grocery items. However, the man who carried our bags too the car forgot too grab a bag of mine and a bag of hers. We could not carry them because we had three kids with us. So we didn't notice until we were home that 4 of my items were missing, that i paid for [ i have the reciept] and also a item of hers was missing. Called the store about it and they said there is nothing they can do. So i wasted money there and I will not be shopping there again if the people who carry the bags fail too do their jobs and grab all the bags, as if that is so hard. Very dissapointed.

Cheap prices but the produce often is often far from fresh and expiration dates are conveniently forgotten on a lot of stuff. Aside from the manager, who is super-friendly, it has the worst customer service of any grocery store in the city (particularly that the cashiers are incredibly rude--I once had one *text messaging someone while she was checking me through* without saying a word to me and only holding her hand out for money).

Great prices on fresh meat. This is a great store for the family budget.

They even carry some ethnic vegetables.

Watch the due dates on sandwich meats. I have bought a few rank packages and noticed they didn't have any expiry date marked and must have gone unnoticed by staff.

Best store in Fredericton.

Great store. Just had a fabulous sale last week. Produce and meat are very good. I shop there every week on a regular basis, friendly as well.

Prices are good, sales frequent. good variety. I can't buy chicken there because it had a bad odor to me.

If I had seen this site a long long time ago, I would of been able to say Thank You to whom ever it was in Victory Meats that donated a turkey to my family. About 7 yrs ago someone broke into my home on Christmas eve, besides all the things they took, they took my turkey for Christmas dinner right out of my fridge. When a family friend had called to see if they were open on Christmas day, they were not, but the more then kind person on the other end of the phone had asked her if everything was ok, and when she explained the situation, he gave our family a turkey he had in his freezer. I am unsure of his name, or if he still works there, but I just wanted to thank you for your kindness, it has never been forgotten.

hey guys i appreciate the comments! my name is craig i work there weekends in the deli. we do try are best to please the customers, after all they are the best people around. customers are even bringing us chocolates for appreciation, which i dont mind. i have to say if you are to run a business hire the young guns. we are the best workers and we want to work. i am 15 and i work my but off. it is a lot of work things are being thrown all over you. but thank you for shopping with us and i am in the deli i have blonde hair and tall. i will help you with anything i can. and i realy like this site its nice to her comments about are service and things like that. we dont hear that very much, thank you again for the comments, love your victory meat market staff worker from the deli on weekends, craig moore

I always shop here just because the prices are great and so is the staff i don't think any other business has as friendly and helpful staff as they do here!

Very good locally owned meat market with basics

Today while shopping at the Victory Meat Market a clerk stepped up on the front edge of the meat cooler, right beside me, to adjust some stock that was piled above the cooler. Her feet were on the meat in the cooler as they hung over the front edge. An investment in a ladder or stool might be in order. I'm sure the health inspectors wouldn't be impressed (probably not anyway!) and it kind of turned my stomach.

The truth is if the only criteria for a 5 star rating is price then they get 5 stars. I never buy beef, budget or grade a is all they sell. And their produce is never local, always trucked from Montreal, with the exception of the odd seasonal item. Much of what is available was bought on a deal, near date, frozen or damaged in transport etc. Service is very good.

We love going to Victory, after only visiting a couple of times the staff recognized and greeted us. Great prices on meat and produce, also a better quality than big store. Food seems to stay fresh better. Victory offers some foods I have difficulty finding in other stores too. My husband works in a big grocery store and we shop at Victory.

GREAT PLACE FOR PRODUCE, DAIRY AND MEATS. THEY WILL EVEN HELP YOU CARRY OUT THE BAGS. GOOD FOOD AT A GREAT PRICE WITH FRIENDLY SERVICE.

The food is good, the prices are low, and the staff is friendly. There are lots of choices for fresh produce and fresh meat. The only thing that is expensive are the non-perishables like canned foods. I recommend this store.
